In the first part of this message we looked at what righteousness is; we were able to define righteousness it its simplest form, and we dwelled mostly o n the book of Romans. Today and in this episode, we shall be looking what righteousness in not, and how we are to run away from such erroneous teachings and embrace the finished works of Christ in order for us to be free and seen to be righteous in the sight of God.

Our text today will be taken from Galatians 3:1-5

[1] Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. [2] Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believe d the message you heard about Christ. [3] How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? [4] Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? [5] I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. (NLT)

Clearly we see here how Paul the apostle rebuked the Galatians because he found out that many of them think they can please God by being righteous on their own or by keeping the law. Paul was asking a very important question here, hear him. “….Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the Law of Moses?” Ok, I get it! Let me be more clearer. This is the question, “…did you receive the Holy Spirit by not wearing jewelries, by not wearing trousers (as women) or by not fighting, drinking etc?

May be to understand this further, let us look at the Law of Moses. The law of Moses or the Mosaic law are set of laws (dogmas) that restricts men or women from doing certain things in order to live right and to please God. In order words, when you abstain from certain behavior as prescribed by the law, you are adjudged to be righteous. The law of Moses is fill of do’s and don’ts and there are so many of them and man was unable to keep them because none can keep them, none can live righteous life by keeping the law and that is why Jesus Christ came, practiced the law and fulfilled all its demands, the only man on the face of the earth that lived and tempted in every way yet without sin.

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. Hebrews 4:15 (NLT)

So, Jesus fulfilled the law and gave us a new law;

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. John 13:34 (NLT)

This is the new commandment Jesus left for us and not the Law of Moses. Sadly, most people have abandoned this commandment preferring instead to obey Moses’ commandment than that of Jesus. Well, time has proven over and over again that none could keep the commandment.

As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous- not even one. Romans 3:10 (NLT)

Clearly we see from the scripture above that none is righteous! Including those who think you have to dress in a certain way to show that you are righteous. Today in some churches, if you don’t dress in a certain way, you are looked upon as a sinner. They tell you that you won’t go to heaven simply because you are not dressing like them; you are not talking or behaving like them. Well, I have some bad news! That is unscriptural and totally unacceptable. The culprits may want to argue this, but argue with your bible. And unless you have a bible that is superior to the one we are using right now then shut up!

So this is not the issue of baseless arguments as we used to. You know Christians can argue unnecessarily and yet cannot come up with anything serious, and most of the times the quotations are out of context with no direction. This is not time to argue! The truth if we must talk to ourselves is the fact that, no man can be righteous by keeping the law. It is false, a lie and completely misleading! You can only be righteous by believing in Jesus. Our main text says it all. Look at verse 2 of that text.

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. (Emphasis mine)

Where is the place of works here? The Bible clearly states that you received the Spirit because you believed! That is the bottom line and not something you have done. Believing in the message about Christ is what makes one righteous.

Are you still arguing? Oh may be you have not read this in your bible.

For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. Romans 3:20 (NLT)

Have you ever sat down to think on this verse of the Bible? The same bible you are using to justify your works is saying, No one! It says, no one can be made right with God by doing what the law commands. So what is your problem now? Let me say this that if any man had kept the law, Christ wouldn’t have come at all. But the fact that Christ came and fulfilled the law means that no one was able to do it. Then what do we need to do? It is simple. Believe!

Why we obtained righteousness

If there is any reason why we can say we are righteous is because we believed in the message of Jesus Christ. It means we didn’t obtained or receive righteousness because we are good, or because we are keeping some laws, or because we abstained from some sins. All those are morality issues and anybody can be moral, there are many people living moral lives and everybody is talking about how good they are but yet without believing in Jesus Christ and his finished work, that morality is nothing, it can’t lead you to anywhere. Verse 5 of Galatians confirmed it.

[5] I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. (Emphasis mine) (NLT)

Clearly we can see that the righteousness we obtained was because we believed the message we heard about Christ. The bible is very clear about this so we should not be confused about it.

To whom was the law given?

It is imperative to point out clearly who the law was given to so that you don’t carry another man’s burden on your head. When the Law was given, it was given to a specific people and for a specific reason. The bible is very clear about this, see

Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.(NKJV) (Emphasis mine).

The NLT puts it thus: Romans 3:19 Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God.

We see here that the law was given to those who are under the law and it’s purpose is to keep people from having excuses and also to make the whole world guilty before God.

Also verse 20 says: For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. (NLT)

Are we under the Law?

As believers or New Testament believers, are we under the law?

Let’s also look at other verses that bothered on this Romans 6:14

Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. (NLT)

This is the word of God and nothing more. Whatever God says is final. A Christian has nothing to do with the Law because the law itself is a reminder of how guilty we are, but God through his mercy has already delivered us from the law.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (KJV) Galatians 3:13-14

Is there anybody doubting again? Read again and again. The problem with Christians I found out is that we are too lazy to study the word of God. We have abdicated our responsibility of studying the word of God to a selected people just like the children of Israel did in the wilderness.

“And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (KJV) Exodus 20:19

They said to Moses, “Do not let God speak to us lest we die.” That is exactly what so many Christians are doing today. They feel my papa knows the best. Oh God is speaking through my pastor; he is the God I see! All these are the lame excuses we bring about and abandoned the study of the word of God as instructed in 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (KJV)

When will you wake up child of God and hear God for yourself? It is time we rise and study the word of God, allow the Holy Spirit to interpret to us so as to be able to navigate our way through this our journey on earth if not we will certainly lose our way. The word of God is a compass that every Christian need just like a sailor cannot sail without a compass; any believer that decided to sail without the world of God is lost, just like we see so many today being lost. That is why a so-called Pastor, Prophet will command people to eat grass and they will comply. They will ask you to do so many things and without any question you will just comply. The bible says we should test every spirit to see whether they be of God. 1 John 4:1

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. (NLT)

Here you have it. The interesting thing about the bible is the fact that, it has answers to almost everything! I could go on and on with so many proofs.

In the third episode, we will discuss fully what righteousness is not. If you are blessed by this message kindly message us and let us know on or or contact me through my various social media handles.

There has been a lot of argument on the subject of eternal salvation or what some people call, “Eternal Security”, this has lingered for a very long time and I feel I need to clear the air on that. In doing that, I will be using the scriptures to support whatever I believe is the right thing. In addition, I will also clear the air on wrong perception that a lot of believers even ministers of the gospel have on the message of “Grace”.

Disclaimer: I do not own the right to this photograph

This should not have been a subject of debate, but because there is so much knowledge gap in the body of Christ today it has become a subject of debate.

Let me begin with this question, Is once saved always saved?

The scriptures will answer this particular questions therefore be patient and follow me gradually as we unearth this priceless truth that is able to set you free.

Our text is taken from the book of John 3:15

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.(KJV)

Now, let us examine this verse critically. The Bible says, “That Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (Emphasis mine)

If you look at this text critically you would see that it clearly states that “Whosoever” which means ‘anyone’ wherever the person may be as long as he believes in Christ, he shall not Perish. (Emphasis mine). Perish has to do with destruction, to spoil or to not last. In Greek it is ‘apollumi’ meaning Perish or Destroy. And what is eternal life? Eternal life means to live forever, to last, to live in a world without end. In Greek it is ‘aionios’ meaning ‘everlasting’

Wait a minute! Does it mean that Christ doesn’t know what he was talking about when he said this? The answer is NO! Christ indeed knew what he was talking about, but some preachers who are legalistic would want us to believe otherwise. The question I always ask them is that, between them and Christ, who should we believe?

Disclaimer: I do not own the right to this photograph

Of course Christ! Reason is not far fetched. They have nothing to give, they can’t even save themselves let alone another but Christ has the power to save that he has done and finished it. Jesus said, “that they may have everlasting (eternal) life! Everlasting means everlasting. It is something that lasts forever. For those who believe that you can lose your salvation, Jesus Christ, the author of our salvation said, “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” So what’s your problem or what is your argument here? My candid advice is for you is to go back to the real study of the word. Now I don’t mean “reading of the word.” I said, “study” because they are two

different things.

Times without number I have pastors boasts on pulpit that they have read the bible through many times, but whenever they stand to preach, you wonder which bible they claimed they have read. Now, I am not saying this to despise anyone, but the point is this, if indeed you read the whole bible as many times as you have been saying, I am sure you did it so as to know the bible and its content more, but if you argue this subject out, then you would have wasted your precious time reading only a book or perhaps while you were reading, your mind was not there or you want to prove that you can read the whole bible like others do.

Now back to our text, we are reading from another translation to give us a wider perspective.

That whosoever believeth in him, may not perish; but may have life everlasting. – John 3:15 (DRV)

Let’s have a look at another translation:

that every one who believes on him may [not perish, but] have life eternal.

  • John 3:15 (DARBY)

DRV said “Life everlasting” while Darby said, “Life eternal”. Now this is the reason why I said this should not have been a subject of debate in the church or among believers. And remember, that verse above is talking to only believers. “Whosoever believeth”.

The last translation I want us to look at is the Amplified. Now this is the killer!

In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever! John 3:15 (AMP)

Now, if you allow some people, they will remove this from the bible, why? Because they already have a mindset that once saved is not forever saved. There are reasons they believe once saved is not forever saved and we are going to look at all that. I have to be very careful to do justice to this subject or topic so as to clear the doubts of so many people out their who have been misled over the years in believing they can lose their salvation as if they did anything to keep it. You can’t do anything to keep your salvation because you have not done anything to earn it in the first place. And no matter what you do, you can never earn it by yourself, if it were, Christ would not have come.

Let us now have a look at John 3:16 a verse that we all memorized from childhood, and I guess we do not as much think on what we memorize daily.

Reading from Amplified:

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. – John 3:16 (AMP)

Disclaimer: I do not own the right to this photograph

I don’t need to dwell on this verse because it is very clear and I have earlier spoken extensively on it from vs. 15 of that same chapter,

Once Saved, always saved:

Like I said earlier, this is not a subject of argument, the bible is already clear about that. Now let us look at this scripture or these scriptures:

And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish;

And no one will ever snatch them out of my hand.

  1. My father, who has given them to me is, is greater and mightier than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the father’s hand.

Is this also in your Bible? Christ himself said he gave you eternal life. And no one will be able to snatch you out of his hand.

The message here is, if you are the one that saved yourself, then you can lose salvation, but if he is the one that saved you, you can never lose salvation. If I hold unto God, I could at some point let go, but if God is the one holding me, he can never let go of me. – John 10:28,29 (Amp)

Jesus Christ speaking said, “And I give them eternal life.” Now this verse is completely agreeing with the earlier verse we read in John 3:15,16. He reiterated that he gave them eternal life and not temporal or temporary life. Did you see that in your bible? He also said, “and no one is able to snatch them out of the father’s hand.”

Tell me, what is that strong force that is able to forcefully plug you out of the grip of God? Not even sin can!

Also read: GUEST OF THE WEEK: Is Salvation truly eternal????

You have been sealed:

Now, this is another shocker! In Ephesians 4:30 the bible says, “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” (KJV)

What does it mean to be sealed? In Greek it is called,  “sphragízō”  (from  /sphragís, “a seal”) – properly, to seal (affix) with a signet ring or other instrument to stamp (a roller or seal), i.e. to attest ownership, authorizing (validating) what is sealed.

Going by the above, you don’t need anybody to tell you that this matter is already settled. You have been sealed unto the dday of redemption my brother/sister! Let no man deceive you, once you are saved, you are forever saved. God’s gifts are never temporal, they are eternal. Like someone would say, Salvation that God gives is follow come according to Nigerian parlance. When God gives you, it stays with you. Let us look at this beautiful verse of the scripture and we are reading from the Amplified:

For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.] Romans 11:29 (AMP)

If you are a Pastor, Bishop, Prophet or anything you call yourself and you are still doubting this, then I can confidently say, you are not of the fold. NO! Let me come out in plain language to you, You are simply not Born Again.

There is no better word than that. Haven gone through all these scriptures as we have seen here and you are still arguing about this issue of salvation. I am sorry, you are not saved in the first place.

Let’s quickly look at other verses:

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Which He poured out [so] richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. [And He did it in order] that we might be justified by His grace (by His favor, wholly undeserved), [that we might be acknowledged and counted as conformed to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action], and that we might become heirs of eternal life according to [our] hope. Titus 3:5-7 (AMP)

Please, what more do I need to convince you?

Also read:

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] Ephesians 2:8-9 (AMP)

None can be justified by works

Yet we know that a man is justified or reckoned righteous and in right standing with God not by works of the Law, but [only] through faith and [absolute] reliance on and adherence to and trust in Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). [Therefore] even we [ourselves] have believed on Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law [for we cannot be justified by any observance of the ritual of the Law given by Moses], because by keeping legal rituals and by works no human being can ever be justified (declared righteous and put in right standing with God). Galatians 2:16 (AMP)

Not Works

For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (AMP)

Romans 1:17

For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. (AMP)

Hebrews 10:38

But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. (AMP)

Here, it is very clear that your works doesn’t count nor your own appearance but it is faith that counts.

The question is, where are you? Who are you holding or who is holding you? Read the text above and judge for yourself..

Your sins are forgiven once and for all

I still find it hard brethren to reconcile the fact that a lot of Christians fail to believe that their sins have been forgiven once and for all.

The bible however is very clear about this:

Romans 5:17-19

  1. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ..
  2. Therefore as by the offence of one judgement came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
  3. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

It was easy for you to believe that because Adam sinned so all of us became sinners because of that sin even though we were not there when it happened, how can you not still believe that through the supreme price that Jesus paid we have been made righteous?

How dare you belittle the work of God?

Now let me address some concerns raised by many whenever the message of grace is preached.

Is Grace licence to sin?

This is one of the most questions people ask whenever we raise the issue once saved forever saved, and the reason people ask this question is because they do not know Grace. They do not recognize that Grace is a personality, and that personality is Jesus Christ. Now I ask you this question, can Jesus give you licence to sin? No way. To set the records straight, there is no correlation whatsoever between Grace and sin.

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God’s favor and mercy]. (AMP)

Shall we continue in sin?

Romans 6:1-3

WHAT SHALL we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God’s grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (AMP)

Now hear how Titus responded to this:

Titus 2:11-12

For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world, (AMP)

Should I tell you more? I think, I have proven to you that once you are saved, you are forever saved, and I have also showed you that Grace is never a licence to sin and will never be so what is your excuse? Swallow your pride and learn at the feet of the master and your life will be better for it. I just want to let you kow that we are called to #RestinChrist. Shalom!

I have a lot of burden and it is tearing me apart and because of that, I decided to put this up. This is a hard truth and I don’t care whose ox is gored, truth must be told.

Disclaimer: I do not own the right to this photograph

I don’t really understand the type of ministers we have today, and that makes me to ask this question, “Who is on the Lord’s Side?” this question is very paramount to the subject of discussion. In this evil generation, there is no sitting on the fence, it is either you are on the Lord’s side or you are on the devil’s side. Choose where you belong. You can’t remain politically correct at this time that the church is passing through perils and heavy trials simply because you don’t want to offend your friends who are in government. Is either you are for Christ or for the devil; and if you are not defending Christ, then you are silently defending the devil.

If you as a minister continue to maintain silence in the midst of these evils going on in this country, then it is very unfortunate, and as far as I am concerned, you are not a christian let alone a minister of the gospel but instead, you are a minister of the devil. If you don’t speak up, be rest assured, the Lord God himself will raise voices that will speak up for him, voices that have never been heard or even the ones you may hear and despise. They will be relevant but you will soon become irrelevant for God is not a respecter of persons.

I speak because of the rate of kidnappings going on in our churches of late and you hardly hear ministers speak up to the government. Some do so because they don’t want to offend their friends in government but for how long? Is it until when the table turns and you become the victim before you act or speak up? I don’t pray we get to that level but like they say, “A stich in time saves nine.” This saying is true. It is high time for people to begin to speak up and pressure the government to be responsible and live to its responsibilities to avoid more loss of lives and also to avoid civil crises in the country. This is no doubt a form of persecution and the government is complicit in what is happening. I would like to support this claim by the quote from late President Gen. Sani Abacha, in his words, “If insurgency lasts for more than 24 hours, the government has a hand in it” I call this words on marble!

This saying is not only true, but a statement of fact! If not, what stops the government from acting and stopping these terrorists terrorizing the country? This is more than 24 hours, its been six years and counting so what should we now call it? Maybe readers may help us with the name to call this docile and irresponsible act by the political class and indeed by the government.

It is high time for the church to unit with one voice and fight this or we’ll soon go extinct at the expense of the greedy ministers who mingles with politicians and defile themselves with their delicacies. How long are you going to be a sell out? If you condemn Judas Iscariot for selling Jesus then what are you? I don’t care how big you think you are, but if you are not speaking out, you are utterly useless and worthless because you are seeing lives being wasted but because of your selfishness and greed to add to it (Longer throat) in our Nigerian parlance, you choose to look the other way and cannot speak nor cry for your brothers and sisters. I say church, let us begin to speak up.

There was a time in this country where pastors or rather ministers were highly respected but not anymore, why? Because some Ministers have turned themselves into professional or carreer prayer warriors for the politicians and in the end they smile to the bank with Ghana Must Go (GMG). The most shameful is the fact that, pastors will assemble themselves and go to variuos governments houses and when they are given money, they will be fighting shamelessly over it. How do you expect them to respect you?  But I believe if the church can wake up to it’s responsibilties and start speaking and shun greed and selfishness, it will be better for us. One thing we must understand is that when the country is bad, we are the cause because Jesus says, “You are the salt of the earth.” Of what use then is a salt if it has no taste? Be the change you desire, make a difference and stand up for the church. There wouldn’t be need for the question “Who is on the Lord’s side?” if we are doing the right thing.

On a final note, I hope and pray that this message will get to the right people to effect change. Please, pastors should stop following politicians about like thugs. I am not saying when they need our advice don’t give them, but I am saying, distance yourself and that will earn you respect. There is a quote by Apostle Johnson Suleman where he said, “Scarcity creates value.” This is very true! When you make yourself scarce, they will surely come looking for you and when that is done, you will surely be respected. Watch out and don’t be like Balaam. I come in peace!

For some time now I have not been able to bring to you our #Guest_of_the_Week, due to some issues and other programmes, however, I am happy today to announce that the programme is back! On today’s Guest of the Week, I bring to you someone who loves God deeply, someone who understands the depth of the message of grace and not mixing it with law. She shares an insight into the Old and the New Testament. It is important for a believer to come to this understanding else, you will just be wallowing in the dark doing religion. How I wish pastors will come to terms with this and teach their congregation “till we all come to maturity”.

I hereby introduce to you my dear sister Prudence Hannnah Ucheh bringing the word of life. I encourage you to follow this message tenaciously and be blessed. She is a minister of the gospel, blessing souls through songs and preaching the word.

One of the diseases plaguing the current Church is her inability to differentiate between the Old Testament and the New Testament man!

Before the coming of Christ, man needed to keep himself in God’s good books, in order not to incur His wrath or so he thought. So it was about keeping the laws and performing rituals upon rituals.

In the first place, God is not power intoxicated, sitting in heaven and watching to strike whoever disobeys Him like we were told. The whole idea of creation was conceived in love and that has never changed. God is love and won’t change because of what we do or not. Adam’s creation was His idea, Adam’s redemption was His idea as well. He is always well meaning, carefully planning out and even making provisions for atonement, way before anything went wrong. Nothing changes Him, nothing changes His nature. All He does is in and through love.

Even the law was to show man how much He loves Him and wants to have him close to Himself at all times. He never needed those sacrifices in the first place. Those measures were put in place for man, just to bring him to that happy place of knowing God is not angry with Him, but pleased. I mean, won’t it be ridiculous to think that God sits in heaven, waiting patiently to inhale the smoke coming from a barbeque? Common! Those laws were to appeal to man’s conscience. To help him feel good towards himself and God, feeling that after he had performed the rituals, God was no longer angry with him. That negative believe towards God is the actual killer you know, not even the action or repercussion.

The law was not given to man in order for him to struggle to fulfill them, but for him to see his inability to please God, see his frailty and turn back to God for help. There was a higher propellant; there was a higher force; there was a higher cause; – Christ! Only one man could fulfill the law. Only in one man could God be pleased and satisfied. God couldn’t be pleased by man’s efforts. Those bulls and rams couldn’t do the job. (Isaiah 1:11, Hebrews 10:4). It was meant for a cause, that man gets to see Christ! Unfortunately, he wasn’t smart enough to see that God was pointing Him to Christ.

If the eyes of your understanding have been opened, you should have seen that all through the Old Testament, God kept pointing His people to Christ, in types and in shadows. Every story in the Old Testament has either a semblance with Christ’s or is a direct pointer to Christ. So it has been all about Christ from the inception and not about rules, laws and rituals.

If you don’t get to see Christ, you can never understand the scriptures. You won’t be able to understand the Old Testament without seeing Christ in there, least of all the New Testament. Little wonder, people keep bragging about reading the Bible back to back, but they have zero understanding of what the scriptures is. It is all about Christ.

Right from the Garden of Eden, till even the end of the age to come, it is about Christ. He alone is The Alpha and The Omega, the Beginning and the End, The First and the Last, The Yeah and Amen. And like my pastor would say, “He is the opening sentence and the closing sentence”. You can’t add anything to Him. If you do, you will SURELY miss it.

If He can’t handle it, in fact if He hasn’t handled it, it simply can’t be handled. Get that straight!

Now, in putting a demarcation between the old and the new man:

You need to understand that the law has been COMPLETELY fulfilled in Christ! There’s nothing more to be done. IT IS FINISHED! All of it is done! God now sees you perfect, in Christ. When He looks at you, He doesn’t see you, He sees Christ. And since Christ has paid the ultimate price, it doesn’t matter how many times you miss it, as long as you have your eyes fixed on Christ and not your ability to rise back when you fall, NOT ON YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES, God still sees you perfect. So both past, present and future sins are completely wiped off.  You can’t even have your eyes on the spotless Lamb of God and still live in sin. Never possible! Whoever is born of God does not sin. The old is gone, the new has come.

The Old Testament is only there for you to study and understand the New Testament better and to live in the now. You have no business at all living in the old era.

“I have to DO this in order for this to happen” has no place in the New Testament. You can only BE in this new life.

The life after the cross is for living, not for doing. And in living, all you need do is:

  1. Believe! Believe!! Believe!!! (don’t doubt, you can’t live in doubt and make progress here).

You need to understand that God sees you perfect in Christ already. It is just your mind that tells you otherwise and what do you do in order to handle that, listen to the voice of the Father above every other voice “Hearing and hearing the Word”. Study, eat, chew, regurgitate, swallow, meditate on the Word (Christ) and the Word alone.

  1. Accept (take personal ownership)

  1. Seek to understand (that the eyes of my understanding be opened to this reality).

In fact, I recommend that the very next thing for anyone to do immediately they receive Christ into their lives is to seek understanding personally. Go on this journey, it is such an amazing adventure.

  1. Study the Word. (Spend time studying your new life). Note that it is in the epistles you get to truly understand this life. That is where the scripture breaks it down to our chewable bites.

  1. Understand that without the help of The Holy Spirit, you will remain blinded by religion forever, so constantly ask and seek His help to understand and to live.

Grace be multiplied!
